Paloma Garden
Paloma Garden is senior affordable housing consisting of two buildings, a new construction Garden North and a renovation of an existing building, Garden South. Strategic use of the U-shaped form and location of the new building to create a shared, common outdoor amenity area that reinforces sense of community and connectivity. This common open space provides an internal focus to the community framed by the two buildings that are sited to create a sense of privacy, community, arrival and views.
Both buildings consist of three basic programmatic components: residential dwelling units, communal, amenity spaces, and supportive programming spaces. Paloma Garden North is a new construction containing 75 units and Paloma Garden South is a renovation of an existing senior housing building containing 51 units. The parking areas are off the streets at the perimeter of the south and east property lines.
The new building will provide a generous portico for sitting at the southeast corner of the building, facing the central lawn. Paloma Garden South’s landscaping and civil redesign will provide a flat area off of the common areas at the center of the building that will connect to the communal open
